Moose was born out of frustration – frustration that individuals and small businesses weren’t receiving the advice they needed when they needed it.

John Cumberlidge
Technical Director
John is a Chartered Accountant (like having an accountancy Masters degree) and a Chartered Tax Accountant (the highest-level tax qualification possible in the UK). So it’s fair to say he knows his numbers.
He’s got 30+ years of experience providing tax advice and accountancy services to businesses of all sizes. And he’ll do this for you too – as well as ensuring your ‘compliance’ is in order (see ‘sorting your tax matters to avoid nasty surprises from HMRC’), and your payroll is managed.
He loves getting to know his clients and the exciting businesses they run, and providing the right support at the right time. Old-school accountancy practices which sell the services that suit them rather than their clients… well even the mention of it makes his blood boil.
He’s a die-hard Glasgow Rangers fan, counts Jim Baxter (me neither) and Mark Knopfler as his heroes, and will make you and your business feel right special.
Barry Cumberlidge

Barry’s led commercial operations for big businesses in the past, but has got far more of a kick out of helping develop small businesses (including some rather impressive media and in-flight entertainment ones) over recent years. He’s got a strategic mind which, coupled with his experience managing finances and funding, makes him an ideal man to have on your side.
As the go-to man for day-to-day client queries, Barry gets a buzz out of the diversity and creative nature of Moose’s client base. He also relishes the opportunity to get his hands dirty and outshine rival accountancy practices, having actually been at the coalface of small business matters himself.
An aficionado of 80s and 90s adidas casual wear with a mop/beard combo to be proud of, it’s fair to say Barry resembles a traditional accountant about as much as Moose resembles a traditional accountancy practice.
